About The Campaign
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, KrayonMag launched a campaign from 25th November to 17th December, titled “Eliminate violence through breaking the silence” ( নীরবতার পাপচক্র). KrayonMag organized a cultural awareness program ‘Break the silence’ at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, where both the political and cultural arena have expressed their determination to work together. The campaign titled ‘Nirobotar Papchokro’ was launched on November 25th with a conceptual photo shoot to raise awareness on violence against women. There was a photo shoot, which included Meher Afaz Shaon, Azra Mahmood, Bulbul Tumpa, Irene Khan, and Sadia Roshni Suchana. The online photo and painting exhibition will continue online till December 17th at the EMK Center.The local ward commissioner Shirin Gaffar, Nargis Mahtab and the assistant police commissioner of Dhanmondi zone and many more respective members of civil society, including actress Meher Afroz Shaon, Azra Mahmood and ICANN Foundation Executive Director Ayreen Khan also joined the social campaign. The programmed featured recitation, music arrangement, performance art and live painting and ended by lighting candles. KrayonMag organized a panel discussion on 2nd December at the EMK Center to prevent “Violence Against Women on Cyber Space.” In this panel discussion Volunteer opportunities, Nari Pokkho, BackpagePR, Poriborton Kori, ICAAN Foundation were partners.
